There’s our world and then there’s the world of Michael Jackson’s personal chef. Kai Chase recently told the Associated Press about her experiences cooking for the Jackson family and about his last few days. She also just so happens to have a draft of an unpublished cookbook, Fit For a King. You make the connection. In breaking down his breakfast,…

Get Up Kids Apologize For Emo; Not Really

In an interview with Drowned In Sound, Get Up Kid Jim Suptic has some things to say about the crop of bands spawned in their wake: “Honestly, I don’t often think about the state of ’emo’. The punk scene we came out of and the punk scene now are completely different. It’s like glam rock now. We played the Bamboozle…

Due to the Batcave being shut down, and no longer hosting shows — something that I sincerely hope I had no part in — the UK punk act’s show with Logic Problem and Dark Ages has been moved to Love Garden in Lawrence. The show is 7-10pm, all ages, and $5. Love Garden is located at 936 1/2 Massachusetts St….

Missed this yesterday. It’s from Joplin. The couple on the right, Dale Phillips and Linda Petrait, are accused of challenging Phillips’ 11-year-old nephew to a drinking game. Police believe the boy, Tyler Fecko, then died of alcohol poisoning.  Court records say Phillips and Petrait, both 27, challenged Fecko to drink several shots of Jim Beam Whiskey and then ignored the…

Roy Blunt believes Obama is an American citizen afterall

Be careful what you ask for, Roy Blunt. The Missouri Congressman was ambushed on whether he believes Barack Obama is an American citizen. OK, ambush is a little harsh considering it’s a yes or no question. But yesterday’s video from Fire Dog Lake showed Blunt saying that birthers were raising a “legitimate question” and that he didn’t know why Obama…

The infamous George Brett poopypants video gets autotuned

Just a warning: This isn’t going to be safe for work. Clips from the now legendary George Brett video get the autotune treatment so we can all relive the best moments from the potty-mouthed Royals’ classic accident. Who’s the pitchers in this game? Thanks to Pitch art director Zachary Trover for sending the link to 8corp. Categories: News Tags: George…

The worst blowjobs of these guys’ lives

This is the worst thought out robbery that I have ever heard of. Imagine the pitch: OK, ladies, you’re going to give these guys blowjobs to distract these two guys. Then we’ll come up from behind and rob these guys — or shoot them (while you’re blowing them) and then rob them. Then we’ll take the money and drugs and…

The potential healing power of blue M&Ms

A recent study by the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York shows that a food dye may aid in recovery from spinal cord injuries. Brilliant Blue G — the dye used to create blue M&Ms — might block the release of a chemical that kills healthy spinal cord cells in the first few hours after an injury. Adenosine…
