Anybody found a decent pickle in this town?

Pickles are mostly an afterthought — the free side with a sandwich — as likely to end up in the trash with the plate as in your stomach. Since coming to Kansas City, I miss only a few foods, and the forgotten pickle is definitely one of them. I took it for granted that sandwich shops would have barrels (or even just a couple) of free half-sour pickles, a vinegary treat that made waiting for lunch feel easy.

I’m not talking fried pickles — there are plenty of those — and ‘my pickles’ is not an acceptable answer (unless you’re canning and selling them). Who’s got a proper pickle in the Kansas City area?
