Extra Virgin Block Party This Sunday

By OWEN MORRIS

I stopped by Extra Virgin, Michael Smith’s new tapas bar next to his eponymous restaurant at 19th and Main. (They share the same foyer.)

Extra Virgin was scheduled to open in late September but from the looks of the construction it will probably be a couple more weeks, minimum — there’s paint on the walls but no furniture yet.

But that doesn’t mean it’s not ready for a party! As subscribers of The Pitch‘s e-mail newsletter Pitch Forks already know, Extra Virgin hosts a block party this Sunday with live music, street games and, most interestingly, a pig roast. Best of all, it’s for charity.

The event starts at 4 p.m. and costs $40 in cold hard cash (that’s right, no credit cards) which includes all-you-can-eat-and-drink. Buy your tickets on the spot. If you want more info from the man himself click here. Look for an update soon when Fat City gets its hands on Extra Virgin’s first menu.
