Carl Peterson, Trent Green and Conrad Dobler will talk NFL health issues at the Plaza Library tonight

  • King Carl returns for a chat.

Despite a few new rules, the NFL’s concussion crisis continues to haunt the league. Tonight at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library, some former NFL-ers with KC ties will gather to discuss the issue from both sides.

“Big Hits, Lasting Hurts” is the title of the talk, which will feature insight from former Chiefs general manager and president Carl Peterson; former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green; and Conrad Dobler, a former offensive guard and sometime critic of the league, who has lately seemed to struggle with the type of brain injuries that manifest in players following a head-knocking career in the NFL.

CBS’ Roger Twibell hosts the panel discussion. The reception starts at 6 p.m., and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. More here.
