A huge vinyl records and audio equipment sale in Lawrence this weekend

For Your Ears Only has been running for 17 years now. The event—a massive sale of vinyl records, CDs, and vintage and modern audio equipment, all sold for below-market prices—benefits Audio-Reader, an organization that provides free reading and information services for blind and visually impaired people. According to a release, the University of Kansas “decided in the last year to cease direct funding to Audio-Reader, making fundraisers like For Your Ears Only vital to Audio-Reader’s operation.”

The sale runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. It will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds (2120 Harper St., Building No. 21). There will be food trucks on site—shaved ice from Kona Ice on Friday night, eats from Apothecary on Saturday.

Tickets for Friday are $10 if you pick them up beforehand at Audio-Reader (1120 W. 11th Street), or $15 the night of the event. Organizers are offering an “Express Pass” this year for the first time. It’s $25 and lets you skip the main line when the doors open at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Admission is free on Saturday.
