Creature Feature is The Pitch’s weekly profile on a local animal looking for adoption. Shelters and support in Kansas City and the surrounding region are often pushed to the breaking point, so picking one future companion to highlight is how we want to put them on your radar. But there are far more than we could ever fit into our pages. Some of the frequent resources and groups we work with—who also have hundreds of other furry friends to flip through—include Great Plains SPCA, Olathe Animal Shelter, The Pet Connection, All Paws & Pals Play and Stay, Pleasant Hill Animal Control, Pawportunities, Wayside Waifs, Midwest Animal Resq, Pawsperity, Wild Souls Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Humane Society Pet Food Pantry, Pawsitive Tails, KC Action For Animals, and Pet Resource Center of KC. For more resources like these, and for everything that help people with their needs too, check out The Pitch’s Community Resource Guide.

Here’s this week’s Creature Feature:

Meet Bolt—Your loyal, loving husky best friend!

Bolt is a six-year-old husky with a big personality and an even bigger heart! Like any true husky, he’s stubborn, smart, and full of energy, but that’s all part of his charm. If you know huskies, you know that stubbornness just means he’s got a fun-loving, independent spirit!

Bolt is a sweet, affectionate, and gentle pal who loves people and other dogs—But let’s be real, he thinks cats are for chasing. He has a classic Husky singing voice and will happily serenade you with his howls and chatter. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who will “talk” back, Bolt is your guy! He loves running and playing with his people, singing the song of his people (Husky-style!), and being by your side and making you smile.

Bolt is house-trained, crate-trained, and ready to become your most loyal friend. He’s happiest when you’re happy and will make a wonderful companion for an active home that understands the Husky way of life.

Bolt is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on heart worm and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $175. If you or someone you know would like more information on Bolt, please visit PawsitiveTailsKC.org.
