Drugstore soda fountains are history, but what about beer bars?

Until the early 1960s, it was common for neighborhood drugstores to feature a soda fountain selling ice-cream sodas, malts, milkshakes and even lunch. Now the only thing more difficult than finding a neighborhood drugstore is finding one that still offers a soda fountain. The only three left in the metro are Fox’s Drug Store in Raytown, Georgetown Pharmacy in Merriam and the Corner Pharmacy in Leavenworth.

But if soda fountains are outdated, what about beer bars?
