God, R-Heaven, selects new Missouri Senate leader

A few days after the November election, the Republicans in the Missouri Senate came together to pick a leader for the upcoming session. The senators and senators-to-be took a vote, which ended in a tie.

With the lawmakers split, 13-13, the heavens opened and God said: “I’ll take it from here.” Or that’s how Jim Lembke (R-St. Louis County) likes to think it went down.
