Sam Brownback swinging a hammer for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Monday

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback will spend an hour in front of ABC’s television cameras helping build a home for an Iraq war veteran living with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Brownback is volunteering for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build in Ottawa, Kansas. He’ll be there for an hour, showing up at 5 p.m. A cynic (who, me?) might say it’s a self-serving photo-op. But helping a war veteran in need, like Allen Hill, is an admirable move. Maybe even more so in this heat.
