Eco-Devo official Joe Gonzales throws a map at a troublemaker

The Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, is like a chamber of commerce with the power of the purse. The agency receives funding from the city to administer tax-increment financing (TIF) and other incentive programs that make developers squeal with delight. Competent, conscientious people work at the EDC. But every once in a while, the staff can be conniving….

Out of Time & Space Astrology

Cancer/Cancer Rising* (Jun 21-July 21): Crisis in action demands you challenge those imprinted shoulds. “Imprinted Shoulds” represent your unconscious (and often neurotic) sense of duty and obligation. Instead of letting others determine your self-worth, look to how you help change the atmosphere of your community through simply being you. No, this is not the Oprah-esque gospel of self-help and exaltation….

So, when YouTube user mystroamster2 purports to be making Gates BBQ sauce , it’s worth a look.  Categories: Dining,…

Rush Limbaugh says the people of Joplin ‘are the best of what this country has to offer’ (video)

Tuesday morning video-o-rama on the Plog continues. Rush Limbaugh gave a speech yesterday in Joplin, where the long, long recovery from the May 22 EF5 tornado continues. Nothing really jumps out about the speech, other than the southeastern Missouri native did keep it (mostly) nonpolitical. Good move. H/t: Reboot Congress. UFO over Lee’s Summit? Fireworks? Or just a satellite? (video)

Is the light in this video a UFO? YouTube user FrompleFeet captured it (and a hat tip to TKC for positing it) and wondered if it was a Chinese lantern or fireworks or, yes, a UFO. Sounds like it’s probably just a satellite, given that spotting opportunities existed in the last four days over Lee’s Summit. Oh well. In June,…
