Kansas City Chiefs won’t rule out Matt Cassel for Sunday … but c’mon

I’ll be shocked if Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel trots onto the field Sunday against San Diego. If he does, it’ll be a stupid, short-sighted and unnecessary risk by head coach Todd Haley, sacrificing winning now versus winning later. It’ll also show that Haley has zero confidence in backup Brodie Croyle. Cassel didn’t practice yesterday, and hell, he’s not practicing today….

What makes the perfect tailgate?

With the next Kansas Chiefs’ home game not until Dec. 26, you’ve got a few weeks to plan out exactly what you’re bringing to the parking lot. And despite what Yahoo thinks, I know it’s not KC Masterpiece. That said, I am curious as to what goes into the perfect tailgate. A proper pre-game celebration can often morph into a…

Both of the band’s songwriters, Jerad Tomasino and Mat Shoare, have recently released solo debuts —…

Give in to your food fantasies and you’ll eat less

It’s OK to stuff an entire sleeve of cookies into your mouth. And that cake left over from the office party? Take a thick slice and eat every bite. Whatever your food fantasy, go ahead and imagine fulfilling it. The Wall Street Journal breaks down a recent report in Science about a new study, which shows that people eat less…

Christopher Wilaby accused of strangling Echo May Wiles and sinking her body in Moon Lake on the Fort Riley military post

If you’re going to hide a body, is a military post really the best option? I’m pretty sure for most people in the hiding bodies business, it’d be one of the last places they’d pick. But I’m no expert. I just watch Dexter every Sunday. Apparently the spot was just right for Christopher Anthony Wilaby. The 26-year-old from Pensacola, Florida,…

Pizza can be a beautiful thing, but that wasn’t always true

I have friends who still insist that the best pizza they ever tasted was that doughy, greasy square slab of cheese-topped garbage that they were served in their high school cafeteria. Although, thanks to years of therapy, I’ve effectively blocked out almost every possible memory from my high school days, I can still remember that horrible pizza. I could never…

Did you drive drunk or high in the last three years? You’re not alone

Yesterday, we learned about just how unhealthy Missourians are, with our cigarette-smoking, BBQ-eating, vaccine-shunning ways. Today, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says we have really unhealthy and dangerous habits, too. Namely, plenty of Missourians admitted to driving drunk or while high on drugs between 2006 and 2009. Categories: News Tags: drugs, drunk driving, law enforcement

Would you turn to YouTube for cooking advice?

%{}% When it comes to food or drinks and YouTube, my first thought is, “this is probably a video I don’t want to watch while eating.” But The Atlantic suggests that YouTube is supplanting cookbooks, providing instructional videos and clear recipes that are more illustrative than a two-dimensional picture. So is YouTube America’s next great cooking show? Categories: Dining, Food…
