The Walkmen snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at the Bottleneck

The Walkmen and Japandroids The Bottleneck  October 19, 2010 One of the things that people often fail to understand―something that I sometimes forget―is that music is a goddamn job full of hard-humping, busted knuckles, late nights and loneliness. When NYC quartet the Walkmen stepped to the The Bottleneck’s stage last night, they seemed a bit weary.  Categories: Music Tags: japandroids,…

The Elders and True North are nerds by proxy

The Natural History Museum at KU is holding a three-day festival to raise cash for exhibits and education programs. Snore, amirite?  Oh, take a joke. Of course the sciences are important! They’re so important that we are overlooking the fact that this festival is called SciencePalooza and endorsing it on the grounds that two bands we are fond of will…

Talkin’ Bolton: A Q&A with a casual Michael Bolton fan

Michael Millett, Johnson County attorney, suspended for two years for lying to police

Kansas attorney Michael Millett’s pants are on fire. The Kansas Supreme Court ruled Friday that he should be suspended from practicing law for two years for lying to Johnson County authorities. Timothy Shavers, a detective with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, created an online…

Ultimate Fakebook has updated its status and the news is very good
