Michael Millett, Johnson County attorney, suspended for two years for lying to police

Kansas attorney Michael Millett‘s pants are on fire. The Kansas Supreme Court ruled Friday that he should be suspended from practicing law for two years for lying to Johnson County authorities.
It all started when Millett’s client, Matthew Sewell, fell for one of those clever cop-pretending-to-be-an-underage-girl stings. Timothy Shavers, a detective with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, created an online profile of a fictional 14-year-old girl named Brandi Holman. On March 22, 2007, Sewell chatted with the bait, then solicited sex and agreed to meet “Brandi” at a Hardee’s in Olathe, Kansas.
