Wrapping up some local news

Some of this info is left from Pitch Forks (past and current) and some of it is new.
Dave’s Stagecoach kept its 3 a.m. license. The liquor control review of the license that was scheduled for last Monday was postponed indefinitely, and none of the three sides in the dispute — City Hall, Dave’s Stagecoach or Westport Presbyterian Church — seem in a rush to do anything more on the subject. Best let sleeping dogs lie.
In case you weren’t aware, Dave’s has a pyramid-like happy hour Monday through Friday. From 7 to 8 p.m., Bud and
Bud Light draws are a buck. From 8 sharp until 9 p.m., domestic bottles
become $2, and then from 9 to 10 p.m. well
drinks are $2. Stay all three hours, and we guarantee that you’ll
be singing along with Dave’s amazing jukebox.
Downtown office workers should especially like this one. Rob Dazzell’s latest creation, Yummo at 1360 Walnut, opened in October and serves more than frozen yogurt. From day one, it’s been serving steaming hot Souperman soup. I asked Dazzell if that would continue in the summer. “Yeah, it might … right now it’s the best deal in Power & Light District. You get a bowl of soup, a roll and water for, I think, four dollars.”
The only other place in the Power & Light District you could even think about eating for under five dollars is also a Dazzell restaurant. Chef Burger offers a quarter-pound hot dog for $3.99.
Crosstown Station celebrates its first anniversary by going back to the kitchen. It’s serving food again with a menu of soups, sandwiches and pizzas. There’s
even a coupon on its Web site offering half off an entrée until the end of this month. Here’s to big things for the second year.
