World record BLT attempt set for Spring Food Show on April 27

I know Kansas City has record culinary greatness in it. I’m just glad somebody was listening when I suggested that we get into the world-record business last month.

Associated Wholesale Grocers will be attempting to build the world’s largest bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich at its annual Spring Food Show in Kansas City on April 27. It’s not a category recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, but the largest BLT to date is 179 feet, 2 inches long. AWG is looking to build a 200-footer at the end of this month.
