If you or someone you know is in need of a job and has some experience in sustainable agriculture or community organizing, the best nonprofit in the city — the Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture in Kansas City, Kansas — is filling two positions right now. It needs a farm manager and a farm business developer.

If you’re interested in agriculture and don’t want to give up the urban life this is the job for you. The KCCUA is a non-profit devoted to trying to get people to use whatever extra land they have for gardening. Its representatives are present at pretty much every farmer’s market in the area.

In addition, the organization runs a two-acre organic farm in the Argentine district and has started development on a six-acre site called Juniper Farms in the Oak Grove neighborhood of KCK.
