Who makes the best calzone in Kansas City?
Springtime is not exactly calzone weather, but can’t a man have the equivalent of pregnancy cravings? A hankering for a calzone brought me inside Cafe Al Dente (412D Delaware). It wins points for affordability ($7.10 with tax) and freshness (fresh spinach, made to order), but it’s not the last pocket I’ll be taking to the dinner dance.
I’ve been glad to see that Kansas City’s pizza culture is coming along, still I haven’t yet found the one calzone that says home. Anyone who says P’Zone will bring shame on their commenting handle – nobody needs anything that weighs more than a pound and looks like a pie crust that threw up meat. But otherwise, everything else is fair game. Who’s got the best calzone in town?
