Where is it?

Whatever happened to Stuckey’s? Before there was such a thing as a convenience store, there were Stuckey’s — a welcome relief along the major highways: clean bathrooms, cold drinks, tasty snacks, weird knick-knacks (I still cherish my salt-and-pepper set in the shape of two adorable little outhouses) and pecan logs!
At the height of the Stuckey’s empire, there were 350 distinctive stores “with the distinctive pitched roof and teal blue shingles.” But like many other beloved culinary treasures from the 20th century — like Howard Johnson’s or the Shrafft’s restaurants and bakeries on the East Coast), a big corporation bought Stuckey’s and ruined the brand; in this case, it was St.Louis-based Pet, Inc., the same company that helped bring down Schrafft’s in the 1960s. Stuckey’s are currently once again owned by a member of the Stuckey’s family.
