What’s the perfect porch beer?
Saturday was the first day in a long while that I could sit lazily on a porch swing in the shade and remember just how good that can be on a warm spring afternoon. I had a Solo cup of Boulevard Pale Ale, and the world was peaceful for about 45 minutes.
There’s no finer way to celebrate the coming of spring than by working your way through a cold one from the comfort of a padded lawn chair. The lawn doesn’t yet need to be mowed, and it’s not quite hot enough to chase you inside to the air conditioning. Now there are a few criteria for selecting the proper porch beer: It should be amount neutral (you’ll like beer No. 1 as much as beer No. 4), have a consistent (or at least pleasant) flavor as it warms, and be relatively easy to track down. What are your requirements for a spring porch beer and what are you sipping?
