What’s going on this weekend

Whether it’s art, beer or hanging out with Greek people, Kansas City has you covered this weekend.
Tonight isn’t First Friday but there is still an art show where pedestrians can roam from gallery to gallery and take in food and even a biergarten. It’s the premier Kansas City, Kansas Street Festival on Minnesota Avenue from 6th to 8th streets. The free festival runs from 4 to 9 p.m.
Also free and starting tonight is the 48th annual St. Dionysios Greek Festival put on by St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church. The weekend- long event features four local Greek dance troupes, Greek music and enough souvlaki, gyros, spanakopita, baklava, loukoumades and galactobouriko to hold a big fat wedding. The festival is today from 5-10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the church, 8100 West 95th Street in Overland Park.
Finally, if you’re looking to get away from the city, the Show-Me Beer Festival is Saturday in Jefferson City. Attractions at the Memorial
Park Pavilion (111 Memorial Park
Dr.) include 60-plus beers brewed in the
great state of Missouri, including beer from lesser-known (but not
lesser-quality) breweries such as Prison Breaks and Flat Branch Pub and
Brewing of Columbia. The Festival lasts from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the $25 price also
includes a
tasting glass. Visit this Web site for tickets.
