What kicks off the start of grilling season for you?
It takes dedication to grill in winter. You’ve got to be willing to deal with the elements and learn to cook with a flashlight between your teeth. Perhaps, even more importantly, you need to change the propane tank when it’s empty. After smoking out my kitchen with a few of Scimeca’s Italian sausages on a stove-top griddle, I can tell you that I wished I’d remembered to check the tank before company was at the house.
perfectly reasonable fire codes, that I grill practically year-round (although city living has left me to make my share of backyard follies). But a rational person would likely pack away his or her grill for at least part of the frigid winter. So what encourages you to kick off your grilling season? Is it baseball, the potential for 50-degree weather or the pursuit of competitive barbecue glory?
