Waiter of Waiter Rant Revealed!

Charles wrote last week that the author of the book Waiter Rant would be revealed today and indeed the NY Post had the story this morning.

His name is Steve Dublanica and in addition to the book, he’s also the author behind the Web site WaiterRant.net. For legal reasons Dublanica doesn’t reveal the “bistro” in his posts or book but with his name in the public domain now, it didn’t take long for New York Magazine to reveal the restaurant as Lanterna Tuscan Bistro.

Rossano Giannini is the executive chef and owner of Lanterna Tuscan Bistro, which would make him the chef that Dublanica has described as both irritable and charitable. The Lanterna Web site includes its review from Zagat which has this tidbit.

Rossano Giannini and his well-trained staff have a gift for making people welcome.

Not sure if Zagat would call Lanterna’s staff well-trained if it knew one of its waiters was blogging about everybody. Probably including the Zagat reviewer.
