Trader Joe’s fans’ pleas have been answered. The Kansas City Star’s Joyce Smith reports that Trader Joe’s plans to open two locations in the Kansas City area in 2011.

The quirky grocery chain will apparently take over the former Staples location at Ward Parkway Center (8600 Ward Parkway) and the space that was originally intended to house a Dean & Deluca at One Nineteen (119th Street and Roe) in Leawood. I guess our plan here at Fat City worked.
