The City Council voted yesterday 11-0 to grant Trader Joe’s a package liquor license exemption for its proposed store at the Ward Parkway Shopping Center. The Kansas City Business Journal has the story.

The exemption will allow Trader Joe’s to sell packaged beer and wine and remain on track to open its 14,000-square-foot store in 2011. Earlier this week, Fat City readers had a lot to say on how the city handles exemptions.
