Tickets still available for Four Stars for Lauren benefit tonight

The second Four Stars for Lauren fundraiser will be tonight at the Boulevard Brewery Event Space (2501 Southwest Boulevard). The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature more than 20 restaurants and eight wine, beer and beverage vendors — who have all donated their products and services for the fundraiser.

It’s also a chance to celebrate the life of Lauren Chapin — the well-known restaurant critic at The Kansas City Star — who passed away suddenly in December of 2008.

The proceeds from the event will go towards the BrenMaren College Fund for Chapin’s daughters as well as the Lauren Chapin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Johnson County Community College. A donation will also be made in Chapin’s name to the Midwest Transplant Network.
