The Oklahoma-based nonprofit group Kinfolks Foundation has sponsored a Soul Food Festival in several major cities — this year’s venues include Nashville, Houston, Atlanta and Memphis — over the last five years. The music-and-culinary event will be held in Kansas City’s Parade Park (Paseo Boulevard and Truman Road) on Saturday, August 25, and will feature a lineup of musical acts that includes the Whispers, Ginuwine, Dwele, Kelly Price, Zapp, and Jagged Edge.

The event features food vendors — traveling food trucks and local vendors, like Lutfi’s Fried Fish — serving an array of classic soul-food favorites and cold beverages. For more information, including ticket prices, click here.
