The reason we’ll never escape the “Cowtown” label
This is the story of a cow that went missing from outside a New York City bar. The Sunburnt Cow is an “Aussie-themed” bar in the East Village neighborhood that has had its mascot stolen twice in the past eight years.
“Bessie 2” was stolen on October 17 of last year in what has become the curious case of the cow in the daytime. But when it came time for the owners of the bar to replace their plastic bovine, there was only one place to turn — Kansas City.
