​I think we’ve gotten to the stage where most people have an idea of what CSA means. For those who don’t, it’s a community supported agriculture program, wherein a group of members purchase shares from a farm to provide seed capital and diversify the risk in exchange for a weekly produce, meat or dairy distribution.

Therefore, I think it’s time to expand the concept locally with a new kind of CSA — community supported alcohol. Let’s import the idea from New York, where Hudson Valley winemaker Raphael Lyon is delivering small batch wine four times a year to CSA members (h/t Emily Farris).
