The Foundry named to Draft’s list of America’s 100 Best Beer Bars

The Kansas City beer bar scene has exploded in the past several years, but it may take a bit more time for the news to reach the rest of the country. Draft Magazine has released its annual list of the 100 Best Beer Bars in America, and Kansas City once again has a sole entrant in the Foundry. Here’s how Draft characterizes the Westport spot (which was picked for the third year in a row):
Midcentury chic meets modern beer inside this hip Westport ‘hood bar. Sip from an impressive collection of more than 200 brews (neatly divided by character: “crisp, delicate” vs. “crisp, bright”) while knocking out a game of pool on the bar’s vintage table.
The Foundry was Kansas City’s sole representative in 2012, as well, when the magazine advised that its “clean, retro-modern-styled setting makes a nice departure from the beer-signed and Belgian-inspired haunts.” The International Tap House in St. Louis was the only other Missouri or Kansas bar to make the list.
