The Art of Smokology and four other weekend possibilities

There is an art to smoking meat. You just need a nice side of beef and wood chips instead of paint and a canvas.

Executive chef Richard McPeake is teaching the Art of Smokology

at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Culinary Center of Kansas City. This

four-hour class (good smoking takes time) is about all the basics

of smoking and includes recipes for burnt ends and brisket as well as

twice-smoked pulled pork. The class is $85.
