‘Text My Food’: the next big restaurant innovation?

Earlier this week, National Public Radio’s All Things Considered ran a piece on a new company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, called Text My Food that “allows customers to communicate with their servers via text messaging.”
As a former server, my immediate reaction was: “Ugh. Not one more thing to juggle on a hectic weekend night.” According to the company’s president and co-founder, Robert Nilsson, I’m not the only restaurant veteran who has had that reaction.
