Sugar Rush 2015: An evening of wines and beer brownies, among other good things

A new participant in this year’s Pitch Sugar Rush event — held on Thursday, January 29, at the Promise Wedding & Event Space at 1814 Oak — will be Coopers Hawk Winery & Restaurant (4686 Broadway on the Country Club Plaza) which will be serving, according to the company’s marketing specialist Jill Giacomino, tastings of six different wines bottled at the Illinois-based winery.
“We’ll be serving some of our fan favorite wines,” Giacomino says, “two reds, two whites, a fruit wine and a sparkling wine.”
And after a heady portion of wines, one can collect his or her equilibrium with a chewy brownie, in particular the chocolate stout beer brownies that Waldo Pizza (7433 Broadway in Waldo) will be serving at Sugar Rush.
Phil Bourne, Waldo Pizza owner, says he also plans to be serving his popular Gooey Butter cake, Gooey Butter cookies, and butterscotch custard.
A mouth-watering array of sweets, wines, beers, coffees and novelties — Tropical Sno cones! — will be featured at the sweets-centric event, which begins at 6 p.m.
