The annual St. Patrick’s Day parade starts at the corner of Broadway and Linwood at 11 a.m., but you can hit up at least three breakfasts before then. So get a good night’s sleep and prepare your excuses for work accordingly.
Browne’s Irish Market (3300 Pennsylvania) will start serving rashers (Irish bacon similar to back bacon or Canadian bacon) and bangers (Irish sausage) at 7 a.m.
In Westport
McCoy’s Public House is serving its 12th annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast Buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. It’s $8.99 and includes scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, buttermilk biscuits with sausage gravy and corned beef hash.
One80 has an a la carte breakfast starting at 9 a.m. Sample green eggs and ham, corned beef hash and vegetarian biscuits and portabella gravy.
Kelly’s Westport Inn. Randal’s Rooftop is open, and a temporary catering license means you can drink on the street in Westport. Enjoy it, even if it’s only good for tomorrow.
