Monday, March 18
It’s now officially The Pitch’s Taco Week! Get half off select tacos all week long at the following spots: the Ainsworth, Mission Taco Joint (both KC locations), Big Whiskey, Brew Lab, Charlie Hooper’s, Drunken Worm, EJ’s Urban Eatery, El Fogon, El Patron, Lew’s, Ted’s Cafe Escondido, Unforked, the Well and Mesob Restaurant. Did we say half off? Get more information, including about what tacos each restaurant is offering, right here.
City Barrel Brewing Company (1740 Holmes) is hosting its first Coolship party tonight. According to City Barrel, a “coolship is an open-top, flat fermentation vessel, traditionally used in Belgian brewing. A Coolship cools the wort by allowing it to be exposed to the open air, which has naturally occurring spontaneous yeast.” By being in the room when this cooling process occurs, attendees actually contribute to the beer. This is a ticketed event, and entry is $10 (this includes a beer). Snag your tickets here.
Wednesday, March 20
Fresh off his first James Beard Award nomination, chef Calvin Davis and his team at Freshwater (3711 Summit Street) are offering up a big, 10-course wine dinner featuring selections from Bien Nacido & Solomon Hills Estate Wines.
