So how rude are texting and tweeting at the table?

Yesterday we reported that the new 2011 Zagat Guide had uncovered this interesting fact: When it comes to texting, tweeting and yammering on one’s cell phone during dinner at a restaurant, 3 percent of Kansas Citians — a higher percentage than many other cities — said it was “perfectly acceptable.”

I have witnessed four women sitting together in a restaurant, each having her own private cell phone conversation. No one at the table was speaking to one another — until the food arrived.
