Smallcakes is now selling cupcakes in downtown Overland Park

As Mayor Sly James would tell it, downtown Overland Park can now “stay frosty.” Smallcakes: A Cupcakery has opened an OP outpost at 7303 West 80th Street. The cupcake store is known for outlandish flavors – maple bacon and fruity pebble are two recent menu choices – but it also stocks gluten-free options.

The locally based franchise has had a meteoric rise since opening its first shop in Overland Park in 2009. After an appearance on Cupcake Wars the following year, the business that was started by Jeff and Brandy Martin entered into a franchise deal with Beautiful Brands International and took its act national. The downtown Overland Park cupcake shop is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The phone number is 913-341-7303.
