Not all days of the week are created equally when it comes to restaurants. That’s why a server who is just starting out gets stuck with the Tuesday lunch shift while the best in the house are usually working weekend nights.

Restaurants have long compensated for fluctuations with specials, but there’s a trend, at least among high-end restaurants, to make the difference between slow and busy times more pronounced. As a result, your table on Friday night would be more expensive when compared with your table on an earlier night of the week. On the plus side, this would make midweek dining cheaper. On the downside, you might be priced out of some of your favorite spots.
