Seriously, don’t squeeze the peaches

Melons are for squeezing. Peaches apparently require a more delicate hand.
The sign (pictured at right) is from the temporary farm stand in the parking lot at the corner of 23rd Street and I-291 in Independence. Georgia peaches, bing cherries and pints of blueberries are available alongside Vidalia onions, avocados and jars of jelly.
The farm stand will be moving to Stephenson’s Orchard (16501 E. 40th St., Independence) on July 31, where presumably you will also not be allowed to squeeze the peaches.
