Ryan Maybee returns to 19th and Main

​After negotiating for months with the owner of the 94-year-old Rieger Hotel building at 1924 Main Street — the former location of both the notorious Dixie Bell Lounge and chef Rob Dalzell’s stylish 1924 Main Restaurant — two local entrepreneurs have taken a lease on both the ground level space and the saloon on the basement level.

Ryan Maybee, who operated the hot hipster speakeasy Manifesto in the basement of the building, has teamed with chef Howard Hanna to open a new restaurant that will, he says, celebrate the history of the former hotel. The Rieger Hotel Grill & Exchange opens this autumn.
