Royals opening day: New hot dogs, Stroud’s at the K

If you’re heading out to Kauffman Stadium, you’ll find a host of new food options from concessions operator Aramark.

“Aramark is looking forward to a great second season at Kauffman

Stadium,” said general manager Jon Sutton. “We’ve talked with fans, tested new concepts and fine-tuned our

operation to build on last season’s success by adding unique new

concepts.”

The big news is that fans will find Stroud’s fried chicken, along with cinnamon rolls and chicken tenders. Aramark is also rolling out two new carts — the  Dugout Dog House and KC Cantina station.

The Dugout Dog House features eight signature hot dogs at two carts in the Outfied Experience, one at each foul poll. Among the eight choices are a Chicago Dog (complete with the all-important celery salt, along with yellow mustard, neon relish, diced onions, sport peppers, tomato wedges and pickle spears on a poppy seed bun), Royal Bacon Blue Dog (bleu cheese crumbles, chopped bacon and red onion), and the Kansas City Dog (swiss cheese, grilled sauerkraut and Boulevard Pale Ale mustard). Each of the hot dogs has a suggested beer pairing as well.
