Raise your glass at wine tastings, wine classes

The Wine Bar (13657 Washington Street) is holding a small-plate and wine tasting tomorrow from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The tasting features six Paso Robles wines, and Marc Ladierre of Vina Robles will be on hand to talk about each one and the wine producing region in California.

Among the pairings will be a 2008 Sauvignon Blanc and jumbo crab cake; a 2006 Signature with beef osso bucco; and a 2007 Jardine Petite Syrah with a truffle “mac attack.” Tickets are $45 and that includes tax.

If you’re craving sweets, the spot connected to Lukas Liquors is again offering chocolate fondue. The warm melted chocolate is served with marshmallows, pretzels and fruit. It would pair well with either port or a dessert wine — of which The Wine Bar has a number on hand available by the glass.
