Pie should be the new greeting card

We’ve always let cake carry the weight when it comes to celebrations. Sheet cakes for retirements, ice cream cakes for birthdays. But maybe it’s time we let pie have a chance.

Cooking With Carrie blogged about first girlfriend pie, a chocolate pudding pie creation she made to celebrate her son’s first girlfriend. I’d like to take the idea a bit further and suggest that pies could take the place of greeting cards and be used to mark all kinds of occasions.
