Perennial Artisan Ales arrive in KC this week

  • Keep an eye out for Abraxas.

This may very well be the year when Kansas City moves from the idea of local to regional craft beer. And one of the key additions could be Perennial Artisan Ales, a St. Louis brewery founded in September 2011. Co-owner Phil Wymore spent time at Goose Island and Half Acre before bringing his own Belgian brews to life. It’s a brewery known for exotic flavors – coconut milk stout or a brown ale brewed with maple-roasted squash – that never venture into the territory of novelty. Perennial arrives in town this week with tastings and brewers’ events across the metro.

Head brewer Cory King will be at the Flying Saucer Draught Emporium (101 East 13th Street) tomorrow at 7 p.m. The coconut milk stout and Saison de Lis will be on draft.
