Pay off those overdue fines — with food

The Kansas City, Missouri, Public Library once again holds “Food for Fines Week,” beginning next Monday, October 18, at all of its locations. (Click here for a list of locations and hours).
That means library patrons who bring boxed or canned nonperishable food items to one of the libraries receive a $1 credit for each food item toward the reduction of existing overdue fines. The canned and boxed foods will be donated to Harvester’s Community Food Network.
