Pass the crickets, we’re eating bugs for dinner tonight

Maybe you have eaten bugs and not even known it. A friend of mine in college worked for a now-defunct fast-food, fried-fish chain and insisted that as part of her job, she cut out some kind of round worm — a phocanema decipiensx — from the cod before it was battered and deep-fried. “And if we don’t get all the worms, the customers get that much extra protein,” she told me.
Terrified, I couldn’t eat fried fish for years afterward. But bugs are making a culinary comeback. In fact, a recent article in The Wall Street Journal online refers to bugs as “the meat of the future.”
