Parisi’s Royal Blue Coffee makes a proper cup

I’ve heard tales of the Royal Blue Iced Coffee at Kauffman Stadium, but had yet to locate a cup for myself. Then I received a small package in the mail last week that changed everything.
Parisi Artisan Coffee sent me a sample of its Royal Blue Blend, which was introduced in 2009 and became the official coffee of the Kansas City Royals this season.
“It has a big body with notes of citrus and a sweet, savory flavor,”
said Scott Presnell, Parisi’s director of marketing.
I followed the detailed instructions for grounds-to-water ratio, steeped it in a French Press for 12 hours, and then poured myself a glass over crushed ice. But I substituted in milk for creamer (after a few sips of the coffee black) and avoided flavoring/simple syrup.
