Own a piece of the Harvey House

Harvey House’s legacy can now live on in your house. A Fat City reader noticed a sign advertising an online auction for the equipment and furniture of the iconic restaurant in Union Station.

The second iteration of Harvey House opened in 2006 — a step back in time to the classic dinner that was a Union Station stalwart for the first half of the 20th century.

With the auction ending at 10 a.m. today, Fat City combed through the listings to find the items that are worthy of a look. Since the auction’s online at Equip-Bid.com, you can even bid from the comfort of your office chair.

There’s perhaps the ultimate mystery item among the commercial kitchen equipment and prep tables. The top bid is currently $35 for a drop safe with an unknown combination. This is like buying the contents of a storage container at auction, nearly anything could be inside.
