Nothing like a big healthy breakfast (Update)

You want ketchup with that, hon?

Update: Let’s toss a flapjack in the air in honor of commenter Caroline who correctly guessed that Perkin’s serves this particular breakfast combo platter. The Tremendous Twelve features three eggs, cooked any style, four pieces of bacon, and four pancakes or toast. It’s a bargain at $8. But it does inspire gluttony — even on YouTube!

Since I don’t work on a farm or do much in the way of heavy manual labor, there’s no excuse for me to be eating the kind of hefty ol’ breakfast that was a staple for strapping farmhands before they went out in the fields and pastures to work hard all day. But the American perception that a big farm breakfast is a good thing, even if you sit at a desk all day, lingers on from the 19th-century.

On Saturday, a friend of mine — once a strapping athlete and now an unrepentant tub of lard — ordered the breakfast featured in today’s post. He should have ordered oatmeal and juice, but instead he wanted this combination of three eggs, four pieces of bacon, hash browns and four pancakes.

What restaurant serves this breakfast combo platter?
