There may not be twenty-thousand screaming college kids in town but that doesn’t mean Lawrence stops being fun in the summer. Cottonwood’s Salute is proof of that. It’s an annual three-day wine festival that draws nearly all of Lawrence’s more settled residents and serves up some serious vinos along with a serious cause, Cottonwood Incorporated. A non-for-profit that supplies care, jobs and in some cases, housing for over 500 individuals with disabilities.

Thursday night was the first night of the Salute event and being held on Massachusetts Street, was aptly named Mass. Street Mosey. Twelve unlikely venues including a shoe store, furniture store and a bank each held several wines for tasting. The Pitch caught up with several attendees moseying from one venue to the next.
