Step up to the mic at Stanford’s Comedy Club and exercise your funny bone. Every Tuesday is open mic night.
Enjoy acoustica at the Bulldog, which hosts Troubadour’s Music Club every Wednesday from 8 to 11 p.m. This week’s songbirds are Mikal Shapiro and Jenny Carr (plus, as always, a performance by event organizer Kirsten Paludan).
Get to know Hugh Hefner. He won’t be in town, but his biographer will be. At 6:30 p.m. the Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library hosts Steven Watts, who will discuss his new book Mr. Playboy: Hugh Hefner and the American Dream.
